LA GRANGE, Ky. — Kentucky isn’t a stranger to the threat of illicit drugs. As a veteran drug investigator and current Chief Deputy Sheriff of Oldham County, I’m proud of this work as I’ve witnessed how illegal drugs can tear families apart and lay waste to our communities. Fraudulent medications and illegal drugs are a serious risk to the health of Kentuckians, but the threat goes far beyond individual consumers. There have even been reports of illegal sellers using ingredients only meant for animal use. Federal agencies and Congress must act swiftly, stopping these illicit drugs from flooding into our communities and holding shady sellers accountable.
