Police said the trio attempted to transfer seven house plots belonging to Milind Kortlawar to potential buyers by creating counterfeit land titles. The accused reportedly offered a bribe of Rs.7 lakh to Adilabad Sub-Registrar Duppalapudi Ashok, who went into hiding after the scandal came to light. Mavala police registered a case against the four under relevant sections of the IPC and launched an investigation.
