IMD warns of thunderstorms, heavy rainfall in Telangana from Sep 22–23IMD-Hyderabad has issued a heavy rainfall alert for 10 Telangana districts on Sep 22–23. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts and heavy rainfall is likely in the districts of Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Rangareddy. Meanwhile, based on a weather forecast from IMD-New Delhi and independent weather trackers, including ‘Hyderabad Rain’ on X, there are chances of yet another low-pressure area (LPA) over the Bay of Bengal. On Sunday, IMD-New Delhi said, “A low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours. It is likely to cause very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over parts of central and peninsular India, including Telangana, from September 26-27 onwards.”Weather trackers here pointed out that in case the LPA turns into a depression, there are chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 26 and 27 in Telangana.
