One person is dead, and another was seriously injured following a head-on crash last night on John Wayne Parkway, just south of Sonoran Desert Parkway, authorities said. The Maricopa Police Department and Maricopa Fire/Medical Department responded to the two-vehicle crash at about 8:15 p.m. Emergency crews determined that one vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head-on.
