Sam Whitters, 26, from Blackwater, took part in an Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB) event at Empire Hall in Aldershot to raise funds for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, which cares for adults with advanced or terminal illness. During this period, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice supported the family with carers, nurses and bereavement services. Inspired by a friend who competed in a UWCB event in Ireland, he signed up for eight weeks of intensive boxing training while raising funds for the hospice. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £50 for their chosen charity, with Sam raising around £150 for Phyllis Tuckwell. The hospice supported his efforts by sharing his story on social media and sending him a branded T-shirt for the event.
