The outing was organised by Ashcombe House care home, in Worting Road, whose residents spent the afternoon cruising the Solent aboard The Alison McGregor, a specially adapted catamaran operated by the charity Solent Dolphin. Louise Lambert, general manager of Ashcombe House, said: "It was absolutely wonderful to see our residents so full of joy and adventure. "We’re incredibly grateful to Solent Dolphin for making the day so special, and to our dedicated team for supporting our residents every step of the way." Ashcombe House residents enjoyed a boat trip on the Solent. Three residents, Kay, Ann and Roy, even had the chance to steer the boat under the captain’s supervision, complete with a captain’s hat.
