Soap stars to play in charity football match to help boy with rare condition

EastEnders star Jake Wood will take to the field at Hartley Wintney FC's Memorial Playing Fields on Sunday, September 28. Laike Lawrance, three, an ambassador for the MEF2C Foundation, lives with MEF2C Haploinsufficiency Syndrome, a rare and severe neurological condition that affects his ability to move, speak, and develop. The money raised will go directly towards developing and releasing the first-ever treatment for this condition. Currently, there are only around 450 known cases worldwide, but as genetic testing improves, more families will receive this diagnosis.
