If you grew up with the golden age of gaming YouTube, then you’re well aware of Angry Video Game Nerd, the nerd in a white button-down shirt, thick glasses, with an upside-down U plastered on his face, who would review and then absolutely destroy game cartridges from all eras. Now, he’s getting a game titled The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit to be launched on modern consoles and Steam on October 23. What’s even crazier than hearing about Angry Video Game Nerd in the big 2025 is that the game is set to be a real, bona fide 8-bit game. The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit puts you in an episode of the web series, with live-action cutscenes starring James Rolfe himself. There is no official date for when copies of the physical edition of The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit will be available to pre-order.
