Police have been working with Environmental Enforcement Officers from Wiltshire Council to prevent fly-tipping and protect the environment. During these patrols, all vehicles stopped and checked across Melksham and Trowbridge were found to be operating within the law. Police warned businesses not to dispose of waste illegally, adding it can be both “harmful and costly.”A spokesperson for the force said: “Businesses – if your vehicle is used to transport waste, you must hold a valid Waste Carrier Licence. “If you see someone disposing of waste illegally, please report it to Wiltshire Council.”
