Lidl asks to make changes to planned Wiltshire supermarket
['Peter Davison']
The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald | News
In February, Wiltshire Council approved plans for a new 2,280sq Lidl supermarket on land to the east of Oxford Road in Calne for the second time.
The previous planning application, which had been given the go-ahead in 2023 - had to be scrapped following a challenge by Tesco.
The company wants to give more space with wider aisles to its customers, and is therefore proposing to increase the maximum net sales area to 1,516 square metres - an extra 102 square metres.
It also wants to reduce the number of car parking spaces from 130 to 122, as well introduce a number of motorcycle spaces.
A decision is expected by December 1.
