19684 3The Defence College of Health sciences (DCHS), a College of National Defence University-Kenya, held its second candle lighting and closing ceremony since it’s inauguration as a college under NDU-K. The event was held at the Defence Forces School of Music (DFSOM), Lang’ata Garrison. The Vice Chancellor National Defence University-Kenya, Lt General David Tarus presided over the colourful ceremony, that saw at least 77 graduates drawn from the Kenya Defence Forces Tri services ( Kenya Army, Kenya Airforce and Kenya Navy) and National Intelligence Service, graduate with higher diploma and diploma honors. The event marked successful completion of nursing courses from Four Nursing cohorts, inclusion of Higher Diploma in Perioparative Nursing, Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (Anaesthesia), Higher Diploma in Critical Care Nursing and Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing. She commended the partnership of various medical establishment that worked handy while running the course, among them, the Kenyatta National Hospital, Pumwani Maternity Hospital, Kenyatta University Referral hospital, Mathari Hospital, Karen hospital, Mbagathi hospital, Wangige community health hospital amongst others.
