On Thursday afternoon, a group of five juveniles led the authorities on a high-speed chase through the South Bay. The chase came to a halt when the car was abandoned in the middle of a street in Hawthorne, and the group fled on foot into an apartment building. The driver led the chase through surface streets and the 110 Freeway, eventually exiting into a residential neighborhood and abandoning the vehicle. According to a spokesperson from the sheriff’s office, all five suspects were apprehended by 3 p.m. following a thorough search. Immediate information on the whereabouts and time of the car theft is currently unavailable.
