At the Dec 18 Council meeting some councillors were once again trying to make a case against the existing process around the various committees. There were claims that the community is not aware of the process. All these claims were unsubstantiated - nothing to back it up except "gut feel" and "the people I talked to said ...". Councillor Ferguson brought some facts to the table. We are oversubscribed with applicants, 116 people responded, twice the required amount! Apparently, MM is doing much better than comparable municipalities. What does it take for the councillors who doubt community participation to just accept the fact - we have more than ample participation. Those doubting councillors should tell us what metrics they are using. Come on, be transparent.
