Speaking when she toured the facility’s renal and cancer sections on Monday afternoon, Cabinet Secretary for health Dr. Deborah Mulongo Barasa said,the 10 additional machines will be provided by the East African Kidney Institute. Additionally the CS expressed satisfaction with the patient care provided under the Social Health Authority and its impact in making healthcare services affordable. “We met our first successful transplant patient under SHA which is a milestone we are very proud of. Acknowledged the challenges facing dialysis services due to equipment shortages and issued a policy to allocate 10 kidney machines from East African Kidney Institute to the facility,” Dr. Deborah revealed.
