In other moves Thursday, Detroit designated offseason signing Jose Urquidy for assignment and released fellow right-hander Codi Heuer. Urquidy, 30, signed a one-year, $1 million deal in March that includes a $4 million club option for 2026. He has no decisions and a 7.71 ERA in two relief appearances this season. The club said it planned to option Urquidy to Triple-A Toledo on Friday.
