Mondelēz International has teamed up with Tesco to trial new Cadbury Crunchie multipack packaging that, it claims, will reduce the outer plastic by 60% per pack. The initiative will see Mondelēz replacing the plastic overwrap on Cadbury Crunchie multipacks with ‘innovative’ stickers. The new packaging will be implemented on approximately 1.8 million Cadbury Crunchie four-bar multipacks sold in Tesco stores until early 2026. It will also include the nutritional and recycling information currently found on existing Cadbury Crunchie multipacks. The company has introduced paper-based multipack bags for Cadbury biscuits in the UK, reducing approximately 145 tonnes of virgin-plastic use.
