French retail giant Carrefour has ceased operations in Bahrain and closed all stores, as of 14 September. ‘On behalf of Carrefour management and employees, we extend our sincere gratitude for your continuous support over the past decades,’ Carrefour Bahrain noted in an Instagram post. The announcement comes as the retailer’s Middle Eastern franchisee, Majid Al Futtaim, introduces its new HyperMax brand in Bahrain.
