Zoë O’Sullivan, a bachelor of science graduate from Maynooth University, has come away from the 2025 James Dyson Awards as Ireland’s national winner for her invention Lymphia. It is often seen in patients undergoing treatment for cancer, particularly breast cancer, and other conditions that can damage or remove lymph nodes. According to O’Sullivan, Lymphia increases compliance, reducing the stigma that surrounds lymphoedema by being handheld, portable, easy to use and aesthetic. “Lymphatic drainage is a technique-intensive practice with incredible benefits for the immune system and body function, and I believe teaching it to people can drastically improve their quality of life.
