The sensors capture live data on river levels, flow rates and water temperature, which can be viewed online.
A joint sustainability project brings water sensors to the Liffey river, empowering the local community by helping them understand the river as a living system.
The ‘River Liffey Water Sensors Pilot’ is developed by UTS Technologies in collaboration with Smart Docklands.
As part of the project, 14 state-of-the-art water sensors have been placed along the River Liffey – from Heuston Station to the East Link Bridge.
“The River Liffey sensors highlight what’s possible when research, innovation and community come together,” said Prof Dan Kilper, the director of the Connect Centre.
