The probe surrounds Nvidia’s acquisition of Mellanox Technologies, which China conditionally approved in 2020.
The probe surrounds Nvidia’s acquisition of Israeli Mellanox Technologies, maker of computer networking products, which the Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) conditionally approved in 2020.
However, in its preliminary finding released today (15 September), the watchdog said that Nvidia violated some conditions.
Meanwhile, Nvidia’s AI chips are caught in the cross-fire between US and China as they battle over semiconductor technology.
However, Nvidia is yet to receive its export licence to China, the company said during its earnings call late last month.
