CNBC reports that the first investment of $10bn will be made when the first GW of Nvidia systems is deployed. Nvidia is planning on investing $100bn in OpenAI, which, the Financial Times says is in return for a “significant stake” in the company. The “giant project”, as Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of Nvidia puts it, will see at least 10GW of Nvidia systems being deployed for OpenAI’s AI infrastructure. “We’ve been working closely with Nvidia since the early days of OpenAI,” said Greg Brockman, the co-founder and president of OpenAI. The company also expanded its Stargate joint venture into the UK in partnership with Nvidia and Nscale.
