The home solar/storage type system seems the most practical. Your solar system supplies power to the home during daytime and stores unused solar production to your home battery. When you return home,charge your car from solar until sundown then from stored power in the home battery. Homeowners that invest in these systems will store their power not export it to the grid. Grid tie will be needed for winter/low sun and high load uses. Homeowners that don't invest in clean renewable energy systems will have to depend on the grid only.
