Airbus has announced that it will open its second A320 final assembly line in Mobile, Alabama, in October 2025, to boost the production of A320 family narrowbody jets. The announcement comes as Airbus marks a decade of commercial aircraft production at its manufacturing facility in Mobile. In a post on Facebook, published on September 15, 2025, Airbus indicated that it might soon increase its assembly lines in Mobile from two to three. Airbus has over 20 manufacturing sites, each responsible for producing and/or assembling various aircraft components, which are then sent to final assembly lines where the complete aircraft is built. Currently, the European manufacturer operates 12 final assembly lines in five different global sites, including its headquarters in Toulouse, France, which has two final assembly lines for the single-aisle A320 family, and one each for the widebody A330 and A350.
