Wizz Air is celebrating having won an award for sustainable airline of the year, in testament to the low-cost carrier’s ‘Net Zero by 2050’ roadmap as unveiled earlier this year. According to Wizz Air, the judging panel highlighted the airline’s “transparent reporting, investment in fuel-efficient aircraft, and operational strategies that prioritize environmental performance”. “We are honored to receive the award of Sustainable Airline of the Year 2025,” said Dorottya Durucsko, Head of Government Affairs and Sustainability at Wizz Air. “This award is a testament to the dedication of our colleagues and the progress we are making on our journey to Net Zero. Let’s WIZZ!”In April 2025, Wizz Air called for “radical change and radical intervention” from governments and industry stakeholders to fire up “stalled” Net Zero ambitions.
