More TurnstileBaltimore hardcore outfit Turnstile returned to the NPR offices for a new Tiny Desk Concert—and made history while they were at it. Performing reimagined versions of songs from their latest album, NEVER ENOUGH, featuring piano and a horn section – Tobias Moody on saxophone, Theljon Allen on trumpet, and Troy Long on piano – Turnstile made sure the show didn’t end without some fun. During the breakdown of the final song of the set, BIRDS, vocalist Brendan Yates executed the first-ever stage dive and the subsequent crowd surf in Tiny Desk history. Turnstile and the horn section performed NEVER ENOUGH tracks DREAMING, SUNSHOWER, I CARE, the title track, and BIRDS. Earlier in the set, Yates reflected on the impact of playing a hometown show in the NPR office for their families and friends.
