One of the world’s most popular music events, the S2O Songkran Music Festival, will head to Australia for the first time in 2026.
Born in 2015 in Bangkok to celebrate Songkran – the Thai Water Festival – with the idea of becoming a festival “that combined water splashing and music together so that people could enjoy both at the same time,” according to festival founder Pulin Milintachinda, the concept has been embraced in other corners around the world, including Australia.
As revealed by the S2O Festival account on social media, the event will land in Brisbane next year after making stops in Bangkok, Tokyo, Taipei and Los Angeles.
However, music publication EDM Addicts states that the inaugural Australian event is heading to Brisbane in February 2026.
S2O is recognised as the world’s biggest water-themed music festival and offers “the world’s wettest party.” Annually taking place in Thailand, the event has grown so much in popularity that it’s expanded to hold water-fuelled events in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and North America.
