I have never followed professional wrestling (although some of my friends do) so I suppose that I am a reasonably good example of a comics fan largely unfamiliar with the milieu of this book. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but what immediately strikes me from the reviews and excerpts that I've seen is that it provides a nice background for Xaime's Whoa, Nellie! miniseries, which is easily one of my favorite Love and Rockets storylines. One of the things I loved about that series was the fact that it just sort of dropped the reader into its world without any explanation. But it was all done with such skill and sincerity that it didn't matter, since Xaime's zeal for that world was and is genuinely infectious.
I can only assume that this book will have a similar effect and that even for a non-wrestling fan, Xaime's passion for the topic and skill as an artist will make it come alive.
