Great work, Jog Catholicism, with all its papist mummeries, is tailor-made for the natural OCD of kids. I had my own obsessive worries about reciting the Trinitarian formula while making the sign of the cross; somehow I'd got the idea that you had to bookend prayer with this, like they were parentheses within which everything had to be sacred (is that official dogma?). So then of course I'd worry about whether I'd remembered to close the parenthesis, and what calamity for my immortal soul might follow if I had forgotten and then sinned while within the open parenthesis...so, yeah, Catholicism!
