More infoA busy stretch of a main road in the Peak District is set to be closed for the coming week for repairs.
The A54 Macclesfield Main Road will be closed between A53 Leek Road and the junction with the A537 near Ladmanlow, Buxton, at the county's boundary in High Peak Borough Council, for five days, starting at 10am on Monday, September 22.
The 1.7-mile stretch will be closed to all traffic as works are ongoing.
Derbyshire County Council confirmed the road is set to be patched ahead of winter to seal and protect the surface, and new high-friction, anti-skid surfacing will be laid.
During the closures, the team will also look at the road's drains and its construction ahead of a major programme of repairs set to start in spring 2026.
