More infoFlags are to be removed from public spaces and street furniture by Derby City Council from next Monday (September 29). "From Monday, September 29, the city council will start removing any items from public spaces and street furniture. Any left up after this date will be stored at Derby City Council." At a council meeting last week, Derby City Council said it was monitoring incidents in which English and British flags may have been erected as a direct form of intimidation, hate crime or harassment. This comes after a resident raised concerns with the city council claiming to have identified streets “where flags erected appear intended to intimidate”.
