New Delhi, Sep 23: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with her cabinet colleagues, on Tuesday spearheaded a city-wide ‘Swachhta Abhiyaan’ as part of the ongoing 14-day ‘Seva Pakhwada’. The campaign, organised from September 17 to October 2 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, seeks to transform cleanliness into a mass movement with active public participation. During the drive, ministers, Delhi BJP leaders, and party workers took part in removing garbage and waste from several areas, including the Ring Road and adjoining stretches. Echoing the spirit of the campaign, Sirsa recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s message on cleanliness, saying Prime Minister Modi had turned it into a people’s movement. The campaign, leaders said, is not only about removing waste but also about instilling responsibility among citizens to build a healthier, more self-reliant India.
