(Image: John Walton/PA Wire)Cross-pavement channels are planned as part of the wider installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging points in North East Lincolnshire. The council has looked at the introduction of the channels to provide charging point access to terraced housing where there is no off-street parking. ‌The issue of charging point access for tightly-packed terraced housing was raised by panel members last November. Cross-pavement channels will enable householders to hook their vehicles up to home electricity without cables overlaying the pavement. Because of expected increased use of electric vehicles, there needs to be 800 publicly-accessible charging points by 2030 in the borough.
