The locals say that the noise, suspected to be caused when the plant is flaring off excess gas, and is getting increasingly worse, impacting on their well-being. Culross resident, Neil Sharp said: "It's always made a noise for years. "It's worse at night, it does disturb my sleep, it does nothing for your wellbeing, it's been bad lately." He says the issue tends to be worse in the morning and the evening, when there is a temperature inversion. However, Dick says he is unsure if the noise is definitely coming from the gas flaring.
