Concern over 'funding pressures' on Coalfield Regeneration Trust
['Clare Buchanan']

A motion put forward by Labour councillor Tom Adams at Thursday’s council meeting highlighted recent funding cuts to the organisation as well as the ongoing work the organisation is carrying out throughout the Kingdom.
“The Scottish Government had cut grants from £1.5m to £500,000 but this was increased to £750,000 later on,” he said.
“It had a further cut from £750,000 to £600,000 in 2023 and had the complete removal of its small grants fund.
“The Coalfield Regeneration Trust is a driving force in supporting community development across Fife through strategic funding, facilitation and long-term partnerships.
The letter will also express the council’s desire for reassurance regarding the long-term security of the existing Scottish Government funding for the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
