Permission is being sought to change the use of some of the land occupied by Brig Car Sales Ltd. This would allow part of the Cocklaw Street site to be used for self-storage containers. In a planning statement, applicant David McNaughton said their base is larger than is currently needed for the used car business. He explained: “The car sales business is well established, we spend a lot of money with businesses in the local community and have no intention of changing this. “The extra revenue from the containers would help further secure jobs for our current five staff members.
