Across Scotland, only 71.1% of patients were seen within the four-hour target in July, well below the 95% benchmark. In Fife, the figure was 73.9%, with Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital the poorest performer at 64.8%. Murdo Fraser, Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife, said the figures were particularly alarming given they were recorded during the summer months. He said: “The latest shocking A&E waiting times in Fife point to patients and staff facing a terrifying winter. Latest monthly A&E figures show July 2025 had the lowest number of 8 and 12 hour waits for any month since September 2023.
