New takeaway seeks permission to keep store sign
['Clare Buchanan']
Dunfermline Press | News
Listed building consent is being sought for Snackwala, at 40 High Street, to retain an existing sign.
A planning statement explained: “The property is currently vacant and the takeaway is yet to commence trading.
Any previous illumination has been switched off permanently and will not be reinstated.
“The sign has been designed and positioned to ensure it does not obscure or damage architectural features of the listed building.”The statement added that the sign was “proportionate” to the shopfront and has no raised or projecting features.
It continued: “By removing illumination and using a restrained design, the proposal preserves the special character of the listed building and the wider conservation area.”
