Louise Carruthers, 26, of Park Road West, appeared at Dunfermline and denied the charge. It is alleged that on March 31 last year, in Queensferry Road at the junction with Aberlour Street, she caused the death of Barry Hunter by driving a car carelessly. She is accused of failing to maintain proper observations, turned right and drove across the opposing carriageway without first ensuring there was a safe gap to do so. It is alleged she failed to give way to a Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle travelling in the northbound lane, caused her BMW car to collide with the motorbike whereby both vehicles were damaged and Mr Hunter was so severely injured that he died. The trial will take place at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on January 12.
