Car hit over a dozen times in targeted Riviera Maya highway attackPlaya del Carmen, Q.R. — More than a dozen shots were fired at the driver of a car traveling the federal highway Monday. Police were notified of the highway shooting that took place in the municipality of Playa del Carmen near the Puerto Morelos border. Authorities were notified of the targeted attack around 3:00 p.m. by motorists when a white car traveling to Cancun was repeatedly shot at. He was transferred to Playa del Carmen hospital with multiple bullet wounds to his upper body, several of which were to his chest.
