However, for Kristianna Gehant Siddens, it has become one of the main items produced on her family’s farm, Prairie Coteau Farm, near Astoria, in east central South Dakota.
With the downsizing, Gehant Siddens decided to focus more on the garlic production, along with raising some sheep.

It was really, really wet, which was helpful in some ways.
“We just move it through our pastures every year.”Being organic is an important part of Gehant Siddens’ farming operation.
