WESTERN S.D.
ADVERTISEMENTMorning temperatures are in the 40s and 50s, with highs later today reaching the lower 70s across western SD and the 60s for the Black Hills/northeastern WY.
NewsCenter1Now, the reason we’ll be seeing drier and warmer conditions for the rest of the week/weekend is because of an upper-level ridge building over our region.
That ridge acts like a high-pressure system aloft (or above), bringing sinking air, warmer temperatures, and dry/clearer conditions at the surface.
NewsCenter1For winds, conditions will generally stay calmer, though we could still see a few breezy periods at times throughout the rest of this week.
