PHOENIX, AZ — Steve Colby, a standout Alexandria Cardinal athlete from the Class of 1967, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Phoenix, Arizona recently.
Colby was a gifted multi-sport athlete for the Cardinals, earning Most Valuable Player recognition in both football and basketball in his senior year.
Colby received a full scholarship to play football and basketball at Moorhead State University as a Dragon.
In his senior year, Colby and the rest of the 1970-1971 Dragons, finished 24-2 and won a Northern Intercollegiate Conference (NIC) title.
Colby and his team were inducted into the Moorhead State University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.
