Police seized suspected cocaine in late-night arrestFORT FRANCES – A traffic stop near Fort Frances resulted in drug trafficking charges being laid against three individuals. According to a news release issued on Tuesday by the Ontario Provincial Police, officers executed a traffic stop on Sept. 23 at about 1:45 a.m., pulling over a vehicle with three individuals inside. During the stop police discovered one of the passengers had provided a false identity and was arrested for obstructing a police officer. A further investigation and search of the vehicle led officers to a backpack, which contained a substance believed to be cocaine. A 27-year-old female from Couchiching First Nation was charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine).
