The Bemidji Area Reading Canine program announced three new teams that have completed the training. Bemidji Area Reading Canines are therapy dogs who volunteer with their owners/handlers as a team, going to schools, libraries and many other settings as reading companions for children, a release said. ADVERTISEMENTThey will join the other BARC teams in serving children at the Boys & Girls Club of Bemidji and Blackduck, Heartland Christian Academy, Schoolcraft Learning Community, Horace May Elementary, Laporte Elementary, Cass Lake/Bena Elementary, J.W. Smith Elementary, Northern Elementary, Bemidji Middle School, Kingdom Builders Christian School, Bagley Elementary and the Bemidji Public Library.
