A suspect was shot by police following an hours-long standoff at an apartment building in Burlington, Vermont, on Sunday night. The incident started around 7:30 a.m. on Riverside Avenue between Intervale Avenue and Bright Street, according to WPTZ. Once the suspect was outside, a Burlington police officer discharged his firearm, state police said, and is currently in custody receiving medical care. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation by state police since a police officer was involved in the shooting.
