WEST FARGO, N.D. — Avian influenza activity has started to ramp up in North Dakota and South Dakota over recent weeks.
That partnership includes North Dakota State University Extension, NDSU Center for Immunization Research and Education , and North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services.
Avian influenza is caused by the influenza A virus.
Right now avian influenza is particularly deadly for birds and not particularly dangerous to humans.
Other commercial turkey flocks had confirmed cases on Sept. 4 in McPherson County; Sept. 2, in Beadle County; and Aug. 28, in Faulk County.
