DETROIT LAKES — The Detroit Lakes School Board honored one of the district's longtime employees at the start of its Monday, Sept. 22, meeting. Sandra Scherer, who served the district as an administrative assistant for 28 years, is retiring at the end of the month. "It's great to have someone like Sandy be your first sight when you walk into our building," added Superintendent Mark Jenson.
