11-year-old hospitalised with serious injuries following collision with a van

At around 8.15am this morning, Monday, officers were called to reports of the incident on Palacefields Avenue in Runcorn.
It involved a collision between a child and a van.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “The 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.”The road was closed while the incident was dealt with.
As of 11am, officers remain at the scene.
