Planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council have received an application from the Swedish furniture giants, to confirm permission for the signs for the new store. Last week, Ikea confirmed it will be opening the new Chester store on the Greyhound Retail Park on Thursday, October 9. The planning application for the signs includes a request for permission to replace the former occupants Homebase signs on the north, south, east and west sides of the property. “Each of the proposed fascia signs are identical in their appearance and are representative of the IKEA brand, yellow and blue. “The wordmark signage is synonymous with the Ikea brand and is consistent with the signage on other Ikea stores through the country.”
