Redrow Homes wants to build the dwellings on a 12.6-hectare site comprising open fields and grassland off Crewe Road in Wistaston, which borders land and allotments owned by Willaston Parish Council.
The company is encouraging residents to take part in its consultation, which closes on September 26, before it submits a full planning application to Cheshire East Council.
A statement on the consultation website says: “Our vision for Crewe Road is to deliver a sensitively designed community that meets local housing needs while complementing the character of the existing village.
“Through a coordinated masterplan approach, the site will provide high-quality, energy-efficient homes within a sustainable setting.
The development will include multifunctional green infrastructure, retain the public footpath, provide landscaping and public open space, with a biodiversity net gain of 10 per cent and sustainable drainage systems.
